Now that Apple is not supporting AFP anymore I'm switching all the clients to SMB3 and turning off AFP in the server. I was using the SMBUP and it worked great for XP users. I am running Yosemite server and I'm fully committed using the SMB that's built in.

Would like to thank you for the blackviper page - it certainly helped and from there it is just trial and error - thanks alot. and have configured it to recommended settings. perfomance or security - have read a lot on the help pages etc. Basically I would like a list of services that can be shutdown without interfering in syst. or running their firewall I have no interest in, besides their firewall is not compatable with my router.

This was more a matter of security than performance - as most of the security notices say that turning off unneed or unused services was a good idea, I don't think I need web client or server running but am not sure - have found out that my printer will not work if printer spooler is not running - will check the blackviper page.
